WEBSITE MASCOT · BY MASCOT ENGINE

Start with your brand. Meet your character.

Design a custom website mascot with personality, a clear silhouette and animation-ready artwork. Move from brand exploration to a complete interactive character.

Design a character with a purpose

A website mascot should have a job before it has a face. Is it a guide that makes a technical product more approachable, an encouraging learning companion, or a quiet presence in the hero? Define that role alongside the audience and the brand’s tone.

We start with the visual language already in use: colors, shape, typography and product interface. A character can be playful without making a serious product feel childish. Personality comes from proportion, posture and expression as much as decoration.

Explore the identity before polishing

Early exploration focuses on silhouette, proportions and a small set of expressions. A recognizable shape should hold up at the actual website size, including smaller mobile layouts. Fine details that disappear at that size rarely justify added rig complexity.

Choose a direction before refining artwork. This avoids polishing several incompatible characters and makes feedback more useful. The design scope should identify how many directions and revision rounds are included, rather than promising unlimited exploration.

The approved character should feel coherent in a still image. Animation enriches the personality; it should not be necessary to understand what the character is or how it relates to the brand.

Prepare artwork for expression

An animation-ready character needs separate, purposeful parts. Eyes and pupils need enough room for tracking. Mouth shapes must support the planned expressions. Arms and hands need shapes that bend or rotate cleanly without exposing gaps.

This does not mean every character needs a complicated body. A simple form with an expressive face may be more effective and easier to maintain. The design and rig should match the interactions you intend to ship, with extra states considered before final artwork approval.

Review the character in context

Place the design in the hero, beside a form or inside the intended product surface before approving it. Check the character against the background and nearby copy. Its gaze direction and scale should guide attention naturally toward the next action.

Review light and dark backgrounds if both are part of your website. Make sure the silhouette remains readable and the fallback image works on mobile. If the character will sit in a fixed corner, account for consent banners, support widgets and the on-screen keyboard.

From design to interactive delivery

The $450 Mascot Design + Interaction package includes mascot illustration, cursor following, idle and one additional state triggered by either click or hover. Editable artwork is included in this product path; the proposal confirms file formats, usage rights and approval stages.

Extra states are $75 each. The $650 Talking Mascot setup covers click-to-play audio, viseme talking and multiple states, with the exact state list agreed in WhatsApp. Share these ambitions early so the character can accommodate them without redesigning its face later. The goal is a usable character system, not only a polished illustration.

Questions, answered.

Will the character be exclusive to our brand?

Usage rights and exclusivity must be specified in your proposal. Do not assume a particular transfer of rights until the written scope confirms it.

Can we use the artwork outside the website?

Tell us about social, app, print and other uses before design begins. Required formats, variants and usage rights are agreed as part of the project.
